Interpretive reading
📖 How it works 🎤
Bring words to life through performance. Choose a published passage from literature, poetry, or prose and deliver it aloud with expression, emotion, and a personal introduction. No memorization are needed, just your voice, your pacing, and your connection to the story.
Speech Length:
U12: 5–7 minutes · Open: 6–8 minutes
Materials:
Printed text or digital materials allowed during speech

After Dinner Speaking
🍽️ How it works
The funniest event on our roster. Deliver a humorous, imaginative speech in character, as if speaking at a formal dinner. Think CEOs, world leaders, or even fictional creatures giving a toast. Creativity, charm, and humor take the spotlight here.
Speech Length:
U12: 5–7 minutes · Open: 6–8 minutes
Materials:
Notes allowed (memorization not required)

Persuasive Speaking
🗣️ How it works 💬
Speak for change. Craft and deliver a compelling speech on an issue that matters to you. Use facts, logic, and passion to not only highlight the problem, but offer a strong, specific solution.
Speech Length:
U12: 5–7 minutes · Open: 6–8 minutes
Materials:
Notes allowed (memorization not required)

Impromptu Speaking
⏱️ Impromptu Speaking 💡:
After receiving three random topics (a word, a quote, and an idiom), you’ll pick one and have just 3 minutes to prepare a short speech. It’s all about structure, clarity, and originality.
Speech Length:
U12: 2–4 minutes · Open: 3–5 minutes
Preparation Time: 3 minutes
How it Works
Each tournament will include multiple rounds per event. You can register for
up to 2 speech events + 1 debate
Finalists will “break” into a final round judged by experienced adjudicators.
